The Simčič family’s journey in viticulture, which began in the 1960s with Marica and Edi Simčič on a modest 3.5 hectares, has unfolded into a success story that their son Alex has continued since the 1990s with a clear vision and the establishment of a recognizable house brand. From its humble beginnings, the winery has transformed into a modern facility through perseverance, knowledge, and a love for the Brda region, embodying the efforts of the third generation of Simčičs - Alex’s sons Jure and Jakob.

Edi Simčič Wines

Currently, Edi Simčič’s vineyards span 13 hectares with 90,000 vines, boasting an annual production of 65,000 bottles across multiple locations, such as Fojana, Kozana, and Vipolže. Each vineyard, with its unique terroir ranging from sunny, warm areas to cooler, northern exposures, cultivates various grape varieties such as Rebula, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and others, reflecting a deep connection to the land.

The winery, which has undergone major expansions and technological upgrades, now features a state-of-the-art tasting room and maintains a capacity of 100,000 liters of wine and 500 barriques, providing optimal aging conditions for multiple vintages. The architectural design respects and blends with the local environment, featuring a green roof that integrates the building with its surroundings.
