Start your Sunday morning with an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Martuljek Mountains, just steps away from Triangel Boutique Hotel.
From the hotel's terrace, you are greeted by the majestic Mt. Špik, one of Slovenia's most beautiful mountains. Surrounding it rises the spectacular Martuljek Mountain Group, beneath which lies the unspoiled natural beauty of the Martuljek Valley.
Join us on a refreshing guided walk through one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys and the picturesque Martuljek Gorge. The sound of the crystal-clear Martuljek stream, the coolness of the gorge, the scent of the Alpine forest and magnificent views of Mt. Špik create an experience you will remember long after your holiday.
Our walk begins at Triangel Boutique Hotel and follows the Martuljek stream along the forest nature educational trail, through the beautiful Martuljek Gorge, alongside rapids, emerald pools and impressive rock walls, crossing wooden bridges and scenic viewpoints before reaching the magnificent Lower or 1st Martuljek Waterfall. Along the way, you will discover the rich Alpine flora and hear stories about the people who lived in harmony with these forests and mountains for centuries.
After visiting the waterfall, we continue to Ingo´s Mountain Hut, where you may enjoy a refreshing drink or a homemade snack while relaxing in the peaceful Alpine surroundings. Afterwards, we return along a different forest trail, that passes by a traditional charcoal-burning kiln, to Triangel Boutique Hotel where our guided experience comes to an end.
Guests wishing to continue their hike are welcome to do so at their own responsibility, following the trails towards Upper or 2nd Martuljek Waterfall or Pod Špik, where magnificent views of the north face of Mt. Špik, the Upper Sava Valley and the Karawanks await. This extension is not part of the guided tour.

Marija Robič is licensed Local Tourist Guide and lifelong resident of Srednji Vrh, above Gozd Martuljek.
With her love for her home valley, Marija will introduce you to its hidden corners, fascinating stories, rich natural heritage and local traditions. This is much more than a walk to a waterfall – it is an authentic experience of the Martuljek Valley through the eyes of someone who grew up here.
