Forest selfness under Mt. Špik

The path back to yourself: When nature calms down, it invites us to join it and slow down too.

22.11.25 at 10 am

Forest selfness combines nature-based activities such as mindfulness, forest bathing, and meditation. Do you want to reduce stress, improve mental clarity, or simply reconnect with nature? Forest selfness will support you on your path to well-being.

Forest bathing or Shinrin-yoku is not a walk, but an immersion in nature – slow movement, conscious breathing, and activation of all the senses.

Under the guidance of a certified guide, we connect with the environment, ourselves, and the life that surrounds us through breathing, feeling, and slow walking.

We will bathe in the beautiful and unique nature not far from the Triangel Boutique Hotel, at the foot of the unique Martuljek mountain range and the Lower Martuljek Waterfall. The therapist will lead us across meadows and water to forests, which are a source of positive energy and have been proven to be a healing environment. They provide the perfect environment for natural therapy, which further enhances the therapeutic experience and helps you connect deeply with nature and achieve a state of well-being.

Did you know?

Scientific findings on the effects of nature confirm that after just 20 minutes spent in nature:

  • cortisol levels decrease,
  • heart rate slows down,
  • the immune system is strengthened,
  • and feelings of clarity and peace increase.

At a time when nature is calming down, we too can learn to breathe more slowly, walk more quietly, and live more deeply. Welcome to the silence of the forest.

This forest selfness experience will be new for us too, and therefore free of charge. You are warmly invited!

You will be guided by Mijenka Mila Triller (ZeleniUm), who says about herself:

"At ZeleniUm, we believe in the great influence of nature on your health and well-being. My name is Miljenka Mila Triller, and I am the founder and heart of ZeleniUm. My journey has been anything but easy. The fight against cancer and other serious illnesses, enduring numerous traumas and surviving days when I could barely keep my head above water, led me to the realization that nature is my greatest ally. Amidst the whisper of the wind and the mountain peaks, I found the strength I thought I had lost. In that quiet world, I learned to breathe deeply and realized that every moment in nature is an opportunity for healing.

One morning, I woke up and wondered if there was a way to combine my greatest passions—helping people and nature—in a way that would bring healing to both the earth and its inhabitants. After fifteen years of research, reading, traveling, and education, I realized that I had found my true calling and that it was time to share this knowledge with you.

I am a social worker by training and, as a certified mountain guide (UIMLA) and social development and support specialist, I have created an innovative approach to health and well-being through guided nature therapy and forest medicine techniques. In addition to my professional qualifications, I have also obtained certificates in natural therapy, which has further enhanced my ability to provide holistic healing experiences. My programs focus on:

- Connecting with the natural environment

- Achieving deep inner peace

- Developing competencies for maintaining mental and physical health

- Personal and professional development

Based on my extensive experience in leading therapeutic experiences in nature, I have developed innovative programs that combine therapeutic activities with the tranquility of the natural environment. My mission is to change the way we use and perceive nature, not just as a backdrop, but as an essential component for improving mental, physical, and emotional health.

An environment ideal for forest wellbeing.

Gozd Martuljek, together with Mojstrana, had the status of a climatic health resort as early as the beginning of the 20th century. The air here was significantly cleaner and richer in negative ions, which helped people with breathing problems, mental health, and general well-being.

Over the past decade, several studies have been conducted that scientifically substantiate (Mag. Tanja Cegnar (ARSO, 2015) that the Upper Sava Valley meets the criteria for the title of a tourist destination in a healing climate and, due to its altitude, air purity, low heat stress, and rich forest climate, it offers exceptional biometeorological conditions for health and well-being.

The expert opinion of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Maribor on the effects of the forest and balneo-atmospheric climate on the destination of Kranjska Gora in terms of the qualifiers for an alpine climate resort confirms the healing and therapeutic effects of the natural features of Kranjska Gora and its compliance with the criteria for a climate resort. It assesses the impact of air, water, and forests on human physical and mental health and confirms that the destination meets the professional requirements for the development of a certified climate product.

The interdisciplinary report "Into the Forest for Health" (2021) is based on scientific evidence of the positive effects of the natural environment on human health and provides a methodology for implementing forest therapy in Slovenia. The report demonstrates that Kranjska Gora has exceptional conditions for establishing a certified climatic resort that combines health, tourism, and sustainable development.

Scientific research and a published article entitled "The Physiological and Psychological Effects Benefits of Forest Therapy (FT) on Tourists in the Kranjska Gora Destination" by authors Darija Cvikl, Cvetka Avguštin, and Sama Kreft (published in the journal Forests, 2022, IF 3.282) used a sample of 50 voluntarily participating tourists to demonstrate that forest therapy in Kranjska Gora statistically significantly reduces stress hormones (cortisol, DHEA), lowers blood pressure and heart rate, and improves well-being, satisfaction, and emotional balance. After just two days, participants felt more peaceful, clear-headed, and connected to nature.
